The opportunity is based in Texas, remote, with a strong desire to work US hours, and anticipated for 3 to 6 months with a strong likelihood of extension, based upon success.This position is part of the Enterprise Data Integration team that governs the strategy and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse and emerging data platforms. In this role you will report to the Enterprise Data Architect and execute both integration and report development tasks.
The ETL Developer will be designing, building, and supporting data processing pipelines to transform data using Microsoft technologies. You will be implementing our Data Integration platform for the Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
(SSIS) environments. You will be implementing data flow transformation scripts using T-SQL and VB or C# scripting. You will be developing and executing quality assurance and test scripts. You will be work with product owners and business analysts to understand
business requirements and use cases to design reporting solutions using Power BI. You will lead investigation and resolution efforts for critical/high impact problems, defects, and incidents. Provides technical guidance to team members.
Skills required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Experience with a structured application development methodology, using any industry standard Software Development Lifecycle, Agile Methodologies is required
6+ years of overall experience in I.T. with strong understanding of best practices for building and designing ETL code, Strong SQL experience with the ability to develop, tune and debug complex SQL applications is required
5+ years of experience in ETL tools. Specific expertise in implementing SSIS in an Enterprise environment is a plus.
Hands-on experience in scripting object-oriented programming in VB or C# (At least 2 years)
Hands-on experience with SQL Server in the Azure cloud either with IAAS or SAAS models.
Strong SQL experience with the ability to develop, tune and debug complex SQL applications is required
Experience in real time data ingestion into Hadoop is required
Experience with Test Driven Code Development, SCM tools such as GIT
Experience with DB2 is preferred
Strong with SQL Server, DB2, Cosmos database and Managed SQL Server instances (Azure) preferred
Excellent analysis, debugging and trouble-shooting skills, and problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to thrive in a flexible and fast-paced environment across multiple time zones and locations
Experience in the Healthcare industry is a plus but NOT required.
