Do you want to become a great software engineer, work with incredible people, and make a great video game? Then you should join our team!

Whether you're a current student or recent graduate with a computer science or similar degree, or just someone interested in software or video games, this job is probably the best possible way you can become a great software engineer. You'll learn from extremely skilled and knowledgeable people who want to teach you, and you'll do it by making real stuff that will get immediate use after you build it. You'll be paid well to learn a lot from great coworkers at a satisfying job.

This might seem too good to be true, perhaps suspiciously so. It isn't. Great engineers are so difficult and/or expensive to recruit that we think we'll come out ahead by training you. Most firms lack the ability or inclination to wait the two or three years to turn a potential or ordinary engineer into a great one. We can, and we're willing to make that investment into you.

There's a joke that the qualities of a great software engineer are impatience, laziness and hubris. That's not quite wrong, but it's not exactly right. We've noticed a few things about the great engineers we know. You don't need to be all of these! But if you recognize yourself in some of this list, consider applying:
- You feel satisfied making the best or most effective use of a resource
- You enjoy designing something, getting it to work, and seeing it in action
- You care about being precise
- You think math is fun
- You like to learn new skills
- You like to solve problems
- You like to prove things, either about the world or yourself
- It annoys you when things are done badly or not optimally

We're a small studio that's making the game we always wanted to play. The job is fully remote and flexibly scheduled. We never do video calls. No prior experience is necessary, but you need to either be a student or have a degree. We don't crunch, but this job will involve a lot of work.
